We also have a table tennis table and bikes for guests to use and a key to the lovely local tennis court – giving guests free access to this facility (racquets and balls available to borrow). Guests are welcome to walk in the woods and fields.
Continental breakfasts are included in the cost of your stay.
Guests can arrange to use a washing machine whilst staying and we have an iron and ironing board for your use.
At Las Razes there is plenty of safe parking for cars and bikes.
At breakfast we serve a selection of croissants or baguettes from our local boulangerie, along with preserves, yoghurts, fruit, coffee, tea and fruit juice. Breakfast is served either outside or in the dining room.
Evening meals are often eaten in the garden or inside during cooler evenings in the dining room.
We provide plenty of locally grown salads – served with local meats, cheeses or homemade flans. Locally grown fruits and vegetables (often from our own garden) are an essential addition to any meal and we aim to use plenty of these. Robert arranges regular BBQs where guests can enjoy amongst other delights ‘magret de canard’ cooked over a bed of herbs. We are happy to provide vegetarian meals for our guests.
We usually provide evening meals about 3/4 nights a week. These nights are timed to coincide with evenings when local restaurants may be closed - so will usually include Sundays and Mondays.
For evenings and lunchtimes when we are not cooking evening meals we provide 'a basket' which includes bread, cheese, pate, fruit and either juice or wine. This way you can chose whether to eat inside or on one of the many tables in the garden and on the terraces.
We are happy to recommend places to eat and to make bookings for you.
Tea and coffee making facilities are also availabe in bedrooms not occupied by children.
We have a fridge in the dining room which guests are welcome to use for small amounts of their own food.
As you would expect, there are many different places to eat out in the local area and we keep a list of suggestions to help you choose. One of our favourites (approximately 4 km away) is the pretty Auberge de Miramont, where you can dine on wonderful local products whilst sitting outside on the floral terrace or in the cosy dining room.
Alternatively there is the (not to be missed) Auberge de Lauzinie, where you can have an entirely different experience watching your meat being cooked on an open fire in the dining room.
Villages such as Montcuq offer a variety cafes and restaurants that should suit any requirements.
Or perhaps you could make a trip to the lovely old village of St Maurin with its inspiring old Abbey and enjoy a meal at ‘La Table de L’Abbaye’. Combined with a trip to perhaps Pûy L’Eveque and the Lot River - always worth a visit is the ever popular ‘La Terrace’ in the old village of Grezels – right on the edge of the River Lot and looked down upon by its very own chateau.
The Cafe du Centre in Roquecor is always popular and this restaurant/bar is well positioned in the centre of this lovely bastide village.
Sitting in the sunshine outside a restaurant in France is definitely one of life’s most pleasant experiences. We will happily call and make reservations for you either before or during your stay.
