Primrose Cottage may would be very suitable for guest who maybe a little infirm on their feet. Parking is adjacent to the cottage and from the car there two small steps to the front door. The accommodation is all on the same level with no internal steps.

Situated in a convenient and pleasant location, these properties are presented to a high standard. The owners strive to deliver high levels of service and guest care, catering well for the market.

Bedrooms and living areas are of a very good standard overall. Kitchens and bathrooms are well equipped and both are easy to use. Standards of Cleanliness are high and all other quality aspects have been maintained or improved upon the levels assessed in previous years.

Under the new British Common Standards for Self Catering Primrose Cottage achieves a Four Star rating

We have conducted our ‘Fire Risk Assessment’ for Primrose Cottage and have taken advice from our local Fire Brigade and will be fitting mains/battery smoke detectors in strategic positions throughout the cottage, utility room and games room.

Primrose Cottage at Low Penhowe is the perfect location for anyone wishing to enter into the hustle and bustle of York while enjoying the peace and tranquillity of staying in the countryside. Located on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, Primrose Cottage was converted from an 18th Centaury granary, and has stunning views stretching for miles, looking across to the Howardian Hills and North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

The Stone Trough Inn at Kirkham, recommended in “The Good Pub Guide”, is a country inn that offers the ideal combination of a traditional pub and elegant restaurant, over the years has won many awards for its food. The Blacksmiths Inn at Westow, “Yorkshire Dining Pub of the Year” as awarded by “The Good Pub Guide” has been completely renovated and again offers a combination of a village pub and restaurant. The Jolly Farmers at Leavening, also mentioned in The Good Pub Guide is a good local pub situated in the heart of the village and offers a good selection of local home cooked dishes combined with a friendly welcoming atmosphere typical to North Yorkshire. The Bay Horse Inn at Burythorpe has been recently renovated throughout and is now a warm and welcoming local pub and restaurant.
