Golden-Brittany.com offers quality holiday accommodation in a choice of two beautiful properties and a studio, which combine to make up Palme d'Or. Palme d'Or is set in the small hamlet of L'Hotellerie, just outside the village of Trevron and very close to the 15th century Chateau de Challonge. The main town of Dinan is 10 minutes north. The accommodation comprises of a 17th century house, recently renovated maintaining some exposed stone walls and beams but overing high quality modern comfort.

Set in beautiful countryside, offering excellent cycling, fishing, golf, beaches and sightseeing Palme d'Or offers a peaceful setting for a holiday to remember. Rural and secluded and yet easily accessible, the main town of Dinan is only ten minutes away and is well known for its history. Dinan is said to be one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe and is well worth a visit. The Port of Dinan is a stunning medieval town on the river, offering wonderful restaurants and night life.

Palme d'Or is easily accessible via Dinard airport and the port of St Malo. The posts of Caen and Cherbourg are a couple of hours away and the Eurotunnel at Calais is less than a five hour drive.

The beautiful cities of Dinard and St Malo are under half an hour away.

The use of bicycles is available and fishing licences can be arranged at an extra cost or as part of all inclusive fishing holidays.

In addition to beautiful countryside and attractive medieval towns and villages, the nearby stunning cities of St Malo and Dinard, both lying on the northern Breton coast, offer beaches, shopping and entertainment.

The caretaker will meet you on arrival and departure to give you keys as well as property and local information. This means you also have a point of contact to provide peace of mind throughout your stay. An ‘Essentials Welcome Pack’ made up of food and drink will be available on your arrival at Palme d’Or.


La Maison Grande

La Maison Grande offers spacious, modern and luxurious accommodation, blended with the beauty of original 17th century features. The master bedroom is large, and offers a spacious bathroom, with jacuzzi bath and walk-through shower, and a walk in wardrobe dressing room. The exposed beams, original arched window and internal balcony sit comfortably with the minimalist luxury of the furnishings and accessories in this room.


The house also offers a further double bedroom on the first floor. The room is filled with natural daylight and the morning sun is a pleasant wake up call through the full height window to the front of the property. Again exposed beams and stone take you back to this property's natural beginning.


Adjacent is the large shower room with double shower offering massage units, WC and sink. The flooring is lined with real bamboo flooring which provides a warm step out of the shower.

On the second floor is a further double bedroom. The large velux window allows daylight to fill the room. There are amazing views from this room across the open countryside and the hamlet. Stunning exposed beams crown this beautiful room.


On the ground floor there's a large kitchen with all modern appliances including, washing machine, microwave, double oven, coffee machine and a large American style fridge freezer. There's a breakfast bar to enjoy your fresh croissants, and French bread. It offers exposed original oak beams and a huge inglenook fireplace with a wood-burning stove. The original oak staircase leads upstairs.
There's also a large spacious living room with 2 corner sofa units, which provides 2 further double beds if required.

Sky television is available on a 42inch plasma screen television. The open plan room also includes a large dining table for those all important family meal times. Exposed stonewalls are a remembrance of what once was and the windows to the front of the property allow natural daylight to warm the room.


The Cottage

The Cottage offers spacious accommodation for up to 4 adults. The large kitchen offers all modern appliances including double over, microwave, coffee machine and fridge freezer. The original fireplace has gas paraffin heater to keep you warm. The huge window fills the room with light and looks out onto the garden. There's also a dining table for those family meals.


The large L-shaped lounge has a sofa and armchair and also a double sofa bed for 2 of the guests. A television with sky and a CD player are available for your use. Wooden floorboards and an exposed beam offer character to the property. The large window allows natural daylight into the room and looks out to the rear of the garden.


The bathroom offers a powerful shower unit with massage features and WC and sink, and also a large storage cupboard. The original flooring carries through to the bathroom. The double bedroom has a double bed, triple wardrobe and again a large window facing to the front of the property overlooking the garden. All rooms are heated.



The Studio

The Studio is a converted 17th century barn sympathetically and tastefully transformed into a comfortable space for Palme d’Or guests to enjoy.  Whether you want to chill out in your own space, paint, read or work, or have somewhere for the kids to play, this is the perfect space.

The Studio has its own shower room on the ground floor with shower, WC and sink. The first floor is open-plan and the front of the property is completely glass, which allows the whole property to be flooded with natural daylight.

The studio is used communally between the two properties, but can be booked for exclusive use with an extra supplement.



Palme d’Or Price List

La Maison Grande:

May - September inclusive, Easter and Christmas holidays - £750 per week

October – April inclusive (excluding Easter and Christmas) £550 per week

The Cottage:

May-September inclusive, Easter and Christmas holidays - £250 per week

October-April inclusive (excluding Easter and Christmas) - £200 per week


The Studio for Exclusive Use:

May-September inclusive, Easter and Christmas holidays - £80 per week

October–April inclusive (excluding Easter and Christmas) - £50 per week

A 25% deposit is required to secure a booking. The balance will be due no later than 4 weeks prior to departure. Arrival time is from 3pm and departure time before 11am. The property must be vacated in a clean condition. Properties are cleaned on changeover and the inventory is checked.

There is a fully refundable deposit of 20 euros on keys. This will be payable to your caretaker on arrival. The caretaker will meet you at the property on your day of arrival and ensure you have all the information regarding the properties you need to enjoy your holiday. He will also be your point of contact whilst on holiday for emergencies and contact details will be in your welcome brochures at the property. Your deposit will be refunded to you on your day of departure.

Extras

Duvets, pillows and bedding can be provided but you may take your own. If you would prefer bedding to be provided please request this additional service, which comes at a charge of £12.00 per week.

Getting to Palme d’Or is easy.

Brittany Ferries offer fast services to Caen or Cherbourg through the summer months and crossings to St Malo. Caen and Cherbourg are around 2 hours drive from the property and St Malo just 25 minutes. Book ferries through www.scottjamesholidays.com

Ryanair fly from London Stansted, Luton or East Midlands to Dinard with a flight time of approx 50 minutes. Dinard is just 20 minute drive from the house.
Car hire is available from Dinard airport through this website at very competitive prices.

The Eurotunnel www.eurotunnel.com provides a cost effective route to France, from Folkestone to Calais. Drive time from Calais to Palme d’Or is under five hours. Please note that a number of the motorways on this journey are subject to tolls.

Palme d’Or is roughly four hours from Paris and 45 minutes from Rennes, the capital of Brittany. Both cities have numerous international flights. There are also flights and ferry crossings from the Channel Islands.
