Description
The Summit Rainforest Retreat is a five-bedroom holiday house, which sleeps up to 16, or a 1 bedroom apartment which sleeps 4, in a luxurious setting. Only one booking at a time can be made, so your privacy is assured. Both accommodation types have access to the Sseminar room, (if requested), which can also be used as a "Home Entertainment Centre".
There are five bedrooms, four of which have private ensuites. The rooms can be configured to suit your requirements into king/twin or queen. The fifth bedroom has two single and two double bunks, ideal for the children.
From July 2008, our new establishment, The Summit B&B (a separate construction), is also available to be booked. Built in the classic "Queenslander" style, with all rooms having access to a wide inviting deck, through French doors, it is self contained and "non hosted". The Summit B&B can be booked on a B&B room basis, or as an entire house (sleeps 8). The facilities include a heated pool & spa with waterfall feature, 4 ensuited bedrooms, full kitchen, panoramic views, centrally heated and cooled, Austar satellite TV in all rooms and a beautiful lounge area with bay windows. Rainforest walks are at your back door, spotlighting at night is a feature, while native pademelons, tree kangaroos and wallabies feed at your feet. The panoramic views, as you relax or entertain, are stunning.

The Summit Rainforest Retreat is located in the Cairns Highlands, also known as the Atherton Tablelands, in Far North Queensland, Australia. The retreat is situated on the summit of an extinct volcano and commands the highest point in Atherton. You will love the tranquil rainforest setting with its 180 degree panoramic views. Walk through the rainforest to the centre of the crater, enjoy the spectacular scenery, use the "conference room", or relax by the pool/spa whilst you sip a cool drink. The Summit B&B has a slightly lower altitude on the properties slope, but still with magnificent views, this dwelling can be booked as individual B&B rooms or as an entire holiday house.
Peace and tranquillity is assured on over 2 hectares of land, the house boasts a huge entertainment deck and you'll delight in the abundant native wildlife at your doorstep...birds, wallabies, pademelons, bandicoots, possums and lumholtz tree kangaroos, to name a few. Each booking for The Summit Rainforest Retreat, has exclusive use of the facilities, this means that only one booking at a time can be made. From July 2008, B&B rooms or the entire dwelling, can also be booked at The Summit's new self contained, non hosted B&B - The Summit B&B. If needed, Atherton Blue Gum B&B is also available for extra accommodation and only a few minutes walk. If you want to position yourself at The Summit, but you do not have need of the entire Retreat, then the 1 br apartment may be suitable at $300 pn for up to 4 persons. Privacy is still assured, with all facilities, except the full kitchen.
From April 2008 our new dwelling, "The Summit B&B" will be completed. A self contained, non hosted, B&B. Three ensuited rooms are available at $200/room/night/couple, this includes continental breakfast provisions, your own entrance onto a large deck, panoramic views from your room and heated pool with waterfall feature. A 2 bedroom option, with shared interconnecting ensuite, suitable for families or couples travelling together, is also available. If your group is large enough, you may wish to rent the entire house for up to 8 persons. This option gives some significant savings. Your own spacious deck with views is a highlight, as well as an abundance of native wildlife and rainforest walks.
Conditions:
- Minimum stay of 2 nights.
- Only 1 group per booking at The Summit - Either the Retreat, the 1 br apartment or the conference centre or a combination.
- Conference Centre rates are available on request, these are dependant on numbers, duration and catering requirements.
- All rates are in Australian Dollars (AUD) & include GST.
- 50% deposit required to secure the booking
- Balance payable on arrival
- Deposit is forfeited if cancelled
- Credit Card payments will incur a 2% bank surcharge
- The Summit Retreat sleeps up to 16.
- The Summit 1 br apartment sleeps 4.
- The Summit Rainforest Retreat tariffs are based on $450 for 1 - 4 persons pn, with each extra guest charged $50 pn.
